How to fit

The perfect fit, step by step

We've put together a simple, step-by-step guide to getting the perfect fit of your Fluffy Ducks, for happy, leak-free days and a comfy little bottom.

Nine easy steps to a great fit

A well-fitted nappy is the secret to comfort and no leaks. Work through the steps below each time you change baby, it only takes a moment, and you'll have it down in no time.

  1. Pull up and tuck in, Squeeze the middle of the nappy as you pull it up between the legs, tucking it into the groin line between the thighs.
  2. Position the tab, Pull the tab comfortably against baby's hip, sitting just above the thigh.
  3. Secure the hip snap, Hold the tab in place as you secure the hip snap on the wing.
  4. Fasten the wings, Reach the top wing snap over and secure it, then repeat with the bottom one.
  5. Repeat on the other side, Do the same on baby's other side. Tip: you can snap the wings unevenly to get the fit just right.
  6. Check the tummy gap, Ensure there's no more than a two-finger-width gap between baby's tummy and the nappy tummy panel.
  7. Fit along the leg line, Fit the fabric into the groin along the underwear line to prevent leaks and discomfort.
  8. Push the centre up, Push any extra fabric in the centre up so everything sits snug and trim.
  9. Tuck the sides up, Tuck any extra fabric at the sides up, too, for a clean, comfortable finish.

A little tip

Every baby is shaped a little differently. Snapping the wings unevenly and checking the two-finger tummy gap are the quickest ways to dial in a snug, leak-free fit as your little one grows.

How should a cloth nappy fit?

A well-fitted reusable cloth nappy sits snug along the leg line in the groin, not out on the outer thigh, with no more than a two-finger gap at the tummy. Tuck any inner fabric and liner inside the waterproof layer along the underwear line so there are no gaps for leaks. Fluffy Ducks One Size Fits Most nappies adjust on rise snaps and waist tabs to fit from around 4–5 kg through to toilet training, so the same nappy grows with your baby.
